Object of My Affection is the first in the Mattress Series. The work explores female sexuality from an aggressively passionate perspective. The act of burning represents destruction but also passion the mattress as the remaining remnant left after a heated moment in time, with the video component exploring the memory of the act – slowed down, distorted and fetishised. The aim was to explore sexuality not as a passive receiver, but as an active peruser.
