Outernet

Outernet

Outernet explores how we (re)present ourselves and view others through the veil of cyberspace. The work explores the virtual world and its alluring ability to step outside who we really are, allowing us the ability to manipulate our identities to reflect our desires.

The project was collaboration between myself and graphic designer Qwux. The performance takes place within the gallery setting, where as the audience enter they are engaged (confronted) by a masked avatar. As this takes place a live feed is projected within the space, also seen by the audience, toying with the idea of the voyeur and the subject.
